Types of certified criminal record checks

Criminal record checks start with using information, like your name and date of birth, to determine if you have a criminal record on file with the RCMP 's Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services ( CCRTIS ).

If name-based criminal record checks do not provide a definite way of confirming your identity, you may be asked to provide fingerprints. This is known as a "certified criminal record check."

Your certified criminal record check (fingerprint-based) will show different information based on the type of application you submit. Find your application type in the list below to understand what information may appear on your criminal record check product, if you have a criminal record on file.
